Minzy shocked fans when she announced that she was leaving the all-girl K-Pop group, 2NE1, as well as YG Entertainment. While there are reports that the singer has had talks with different agencies, it appears that she is going to sign with Music Works.

A source told Sports Donga that the 22-year-old singer has decided to sign an exclusive contract with Music Works. Music Works is home to stars such as Yoo Seung Eun, and Baek Ji Young, to name a few.

Although nothing has been officially announced and the contract has not been signed, the insider revealed that "it seems [she] has made Music Works [her] decision."

Music Works has confirmed that it had talks with Minzy. "It's true that we recently met with Minzy to discuss an exclusive contract, but a contract has yet to be officially signed," the company said.

On Thursday, Minzy took to Instagram to post a sweet letter she wrote to her fans. Although it was written in Korean, the caption included an English translation. Minzy apologized for shocking fans with the news that she has left 2NE1 and informed them that her decision was because she wants to pursue a solo singing career as Minzy Kong.

Minzy said the experiences she had with 2NE1 "were undeniably precious and I take none of them for granted."

She ended the letter with, "Thank you to all the fans, family, and friends who have shown me their love and concern. I promise to return soon. Love, Minzy."

Minzy officially left 2NE1 last month after she and the label could not come to terms during negotiations for the renewal of 2NE1's contract. Fans have had mixed reactions to the news, and many are concerned about whether the extremely popular girl group will still be able to deliver as a trio.

Although the remaining members CL, Sandara Park and Park Bom, initially thought of disbanding after Minzy left, the CEO of the label Yang Hyunsuk, expressed his desire to keep the girl group together, which the three women all agreed on.

The three remaining members of 2NE1 are set to release a song in the summer and are not looking for someone to replace Minzy. 2NE1 will continue as a trio and have promised to "return with the most 2NE1-style and 2NE1-appropriate music."
