GoPro's action camera sale may have been weakening, but the American action camera manufacturer is eager to increase the company's revenue by introducing its first drone called Karma.

It was previously reported that GoPro's Karma drone will be unveiled prior GoPro Hero 5 release; however, fresh reports claim that GoPro's first drone will be delayed. It is said that GoPro Karma drone will not be released until end of this year, contrary to earlier reports that the drone will be unveiled Q2 2016.

According to Engadget, the news broke out after GoPro released their latest financial statement (first quarter 2016 earnings) on Thursday afternoon. The release delay may be a bad thing for GoPro followers who have been waiting for the drone, but it may mean the opposite thing for GoPro.

It is said that there is a good impact in releasing Karma drone during Holiday season, as consumer normally buys new products for gifts and for personal use at that time, which can translate into increase of sales and revenues. GoPro's investors also think that the much anticipated Karma drone will be the company's answer in increasing its sales and popularity.

Meanwhile, since Karma drone's release date delay is already confirmed, there are some who are worried as pushing its release date would be a big risk for GoPro because other companies, such as Air Dog, are also working on their new drone. According to reports, Air Dog's new drone may overthrow Karma drone, which will lead to another loss for GoPro.
