Since ABC renewed "Secrets and Lies'' for a second season in 2015, fans of the murder-mystery anthology series could not wait to know more details about the storylines of the anticipated "Secrets and Lies'' Season 2.

Reports claim that "Secrets and Lies" Season 2 is going to feature a new case for the show's lead protagonist, Andrea Cornell (played by Juliette Lewis). It is said to be a homicide case about a woman who fell off in a building.

Unfortunately, Ryan Philippe, who played Ben Crawford in the series, is not returning for the next season, as what was reported by The Wrap. The actor said that he is happy and excited that "Secrets and Lies" will be back for a second season, and he also congratulated his co-stars and the team behind the series.

Philippe confirmed that he is not returning for "Secrets and Lies" Season 2 because the story which he played in the show has ended, and that the story was completely told during the show's first season.

In an interview with Variety, the show's creator Barbie Kligman said that "Secrets and Lies" is a great show, knowing that the series focuses on new stories to tell every season, which means new characters as well. She added that Philippe has signed a one season deal, which is why it is not surprising at all that the actor will not be back in "Secrets and Lies" Season 2.

On one hand, in regards to the exact premiere date of the second installment, reports are saying that the show's creator and showrunner may release the first episode of "Secrets and Lies" Season 2 this fall, but this information still remains as a rumor so fans should take this with a pinch of salt.
