Reports say Ladies' Code, a girl group under Polaris, had wrapped up their activities in Daegu and were being driven back to Seoul when, at around 1:30 AM Korean Standard Time, the van they were riding in lost control and crashed against a protective barrier at the Yeongdong Expressway.
The group's vehicle was reported to be traveling along a slippery road under rainy weather, which caused the driver to lose control and hurtled the vehicle on a spin before it hit the wall. The driver also died in the accident.
EunB, or Koh Eun Bi, was moved to a hospital near Yongin in Gyeonggi Province, but passed away despite efforts by respondents to save her. Other reports say EunB was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
EunB's fellow members RiSe and Sojung are said to be in critical condition, with the former having to go through three major surgeries in a span of seven hours. Reports say Sojung is stable as of the moment. The two Ladies' Code members will be transferred to a hospital in Seoul once they are stable enough to be moved.
Ashley and Zuny, who were also involved in the accident, only sustained minor injuries. Other staff members who were also in the car were able to get through the accident.
The K-Pop community has responded with posts about the girl group, extending prayers and well-wishes to the members as well as grief over the loss of EunB.
