People who have been sharing leaked nude photos of actresses have come to realize that some of the images they shared and uploaded could be child pornography.
US gymnast McKayla Maroney and MTV's "My Life As Liz" star Liz Lee were believed to have been underage when their nude photos were taken.

Currently, Reddit users are panicking over the prospect of "going to jail" for possessing and distributing the celebrities' photos, with one individual sharing step-by-step how to "scrub [their] hard drives clean" in order to remove any traces of photos that could constitute child pornography.
However, attempting to hide the photos themselves already constitutes a criminal offense.
"If we don't remove them [images of Maroney and Lee], this subreddit will most likely be banned, very quickly," a Reddit moderator warned, adding, "Due to this, we will be removing any and all things that contain their images. It is considered CP [child pornography], and breaks reddit's site-wide rules along with US Law, and will get this subreddit banned if we were to allow them to be posted (not to mention the fact again, that it is child pornography)."
Lee was not part of the list of actresses, which included Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence, whose photos were leaked by an apparent hacker. Lee's photos were taken by a former boyfriend in 2007, but were subsequently shared at the onset of the recent nude photo leak.
Maroney, on the other hand, took to Twitter to deny that the nude photos are of her, referring to them as "fake". However, insiders claim that her lawyer has sent letters to several porn sites that have uploaded them, saying that the gymnast was a minor in several of the photos.
The hacker claims that the images that were released only constitute a fraction of the multitude of photos that have been amassed from celebrities' iCloud accounts.
A "deep web" forum was said to have hosted the site a week ago, but their appearance in the 4chan image-sharing forum allowed for circulation to be widespread.
One of the celebrity victims, actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead, tweeted that her nude pictures were already deleted previously before they were shared.
