Chinese professional basketball player Zhou Qi created some buzz at the 2016 NBA draft combine this week. The 20-year-old impressed teams with his size and shooting ability, but questions about his readiness for the NBA remain.

Qi, whose play in China has earned the moniker "The Big Devil King," stood out as the tallest player at the combine. He also recorded the largest wingspan at the event, prompting comparisons to players such as Utah Jazz shot-blocking specialist Rudy Gobert.

Sporting News noted that Qi has a chance to "become a game-changing defensive player, because of his length and agility."

Qi hit 56% of his three-pointers in the showcase. He shot the ball from five different positions behind the three-point line, not falling below 40% from any spot.

A combine report on the Boston Celtics website said Qi has "very good feet for a player of his height," and "He can also really shoot the ball, well into NBA three-point range."

The report also pointed out the biggest obstacle to his potential success in the NBA. "Qi is very, very frail...there were three guards who weighed more than he did," the report said.

Despite the questions about his body, Qi is confident. He said through a translator, "I've been growing all these years, consistently growing."

When asked whether he is NBA-ready or a long-term project, Qi quickly said, "I'm ready."

Qi also said he appreciated the way the NBA runs their combine.

"I learned a lot about the draft process with the agility testing, and also the shooting testing and training," he said. "Everything is systematic and scientific, so I like the process."

Experts predict that Qi could be drafted toward the end of the first round. In a mock draft on Basketball Insiders three of four writers put him in the first round between the 26th and 30th picks.

The NBA draft will be held on June 23 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
