NVIDIA GTX 1080, GTX 1070 News: Price Point and Release Date Confirmed; New GPUs to Feature VR Capabilities

There has been little new in the past couple of months on NVIDIA's plan to release their new GeForce graphics cards. But it looks like PC gamers are finally getting the news that they have been waiting for as the company announces the release dates for their new GTX 1080 and GTX 1070.

According to Ecumenical News, fans can look forward to purchasing their NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 on May 27 while fans could purchase the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 at a later date, June 10. The report also states that fans would be happy to hear the price tags on the two graphics cards as well. With the GTX 1080 priced at $599 and the GTX 1070 at $379, fans will surely get the value for their buck.

The report also states that this would be the first time NVIDIA is coming out with an application type silicon. With previous Graphics cards, NVIDIA usually had a 'one-fits-all' type of graphics card.

Vine Report states that fans finally got a first had look at the new Graphics card just last weekend. The company finally released a video unveiling their new Graphics cards. The report states that this is the first time that NVIDIA would be releasing their hardware with the new Pascual microarchitecture, the new creation would be far greater than that of the current NVIDIA GPU Titan X.

NVIDIA however was quick to point out that the new NVIDIA is not just faster that their current Titan X model, it is also better with power efficiency as well as virtual reality capabilities. The GTX 1080 is expected to have an 8GB GDDR5X RAM. The new hardware is expected to support higher displays up to 7680x4320px. With some much power, the GTX 1080 can withstand heat as high as 94 degrees Celsius.

Fans with a little less money to burn could opt for the GTX 1070, the lower priced hardware will still pack a punch. It is rumored to be faster than the Titan X.

Console fans are hopeful that NVIDIA would come up with a customized hardware that could be coupled with a future PlayStation 5 or a second Xbox, but for now, PC fans can look forward to their new NVIDIA GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 in the coming days.
