Some 5,000 fans filled up the Beijing's Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium to see and interact with the heartthrob. Song is in Beijing as part of his 2016 Asia Tour Fan Meeting.
Fans were able to enjoy two hours with their idol. Aside from his charisma, many were impressed of the actor's fluency in Chinese, which he said he learned from studying the native tongue from his brother who studied in Beijing for eight years.
During his meet and greet, the actor sang Long Time No See in Chinese. Then people were surprised by the appearance of Park Bo Gum. Together, they treated the audience with their rendition of A Little Girl, with Song Joong-ki singing and Park Bo Gum behind the piano.
Before the event ended, Park read a letter he wrote to his fans in China. He thanked them for their continued love and support.
Local media reported that some Chinese fans paid scalpers as much as 8,000 yuan ($1,230), which is nearly eight times more than the normal 1,080 yuan ($165) price of the tickets, just to get a front row seat. Other than the fan meet, scalpers also took advantage of Song's press conference on Friday where tickets were sold as high as 1,500 yuan ($165).
