'Survivor 32: Koh Rong' has announced a female New Jersey resident as the sole survivor. Meanwhile, critics have noted that the just-ended season of the show was the most dangerous for contestants.

The winner was recently announced for the 32nd season of CBS' popular competitive reality television show series. Michele Fitzgerald, a New Jersey resident, was named the sole survivor in Koh Rong, Cambodia after trumping finalists Aubry Bracco and Tai Trang with a vote of 5-2-0.

The 24-year-old contestant took home the $1 million prize money on Wednesday, May 18 - becoming the second New Jersey resident to win the title. Tony Vlachos, a police officer, outdid fellow contestants in 2014 on 'Survivor: Cagayan,' which was staged in Palaui Island, Philippines.

'Survivor: Koh Rong' featured individuals grouped into three tribes namely Gondol ("Beauty"), Chan Loh ("Brains") and To Tang ("Brawn"). Fitzgerald initially belonged to Gondol.

Fitzgerald worked as a bartender before competing in the acclaimed television show. She admitted that she watched every season of 'Survivor' to come up with a winning strategy.

"Using my charm, I think I can build strong relationships and lead an alliance without being viewed as aggressive. I'm not gonna play on the sidelines. I want to make big, bad*ss moves that will get me further in the game, and have fun doing it," she said.

Fitzgerald also admitted to joining the game to satiate her adventurous spirit as well as take herself out of her comfort zone. She revealed that she was definitely in it for the money as well.

Meanwhile, Survivor Season 32 has been criticized as the most dangerous yet. According to LA Magazine, the television show has always been known to put its contestants under constant physical, emotional and psychological pressure.

The just ended season, however, proved to be on the riskier side with several players suffering mishaps and critical health conditions while competing. There were reports of intense heat strokes, infected wounds as well as gastrointestinal and kidney dysfunctions.

'Survivor 32: Koh Rong' was filmed in Cambodia in 2015 and premiered on February 17, 2016. It is the 32nd season of the reality television series created by Charlie Parsons and executive produced by Mark Burnett.
