Middling club Guangzhou R&F FC (3-4-2, 11 points) will look to go back to their winning form as they take on the challenge of cellar dwellers Changchun Yatai FC (0-6-3, 3 points) in a 2016 Chinese Super League season match scheduled at their home field of Yuexiushan Stadium on Sunday, May 22.

Guangzhou snapped their two-game winning run after being demolished by fellow middling side Shanghai Greenland Shenhua FC, 1-5, at the Hongkou Stadium last Sunday, as reported by Xinhuanet.

Shanghai started scoring just five minutes into the match with a goal from local forward Lu Zheng. The Blue Lions were able to equalize it immediately at the 11th minute as striker Xiao Zhi pulled off a magnificent one-on-one move against Shenhua goalkeeper Li Shuai.

The first half ended in a 1-1 draw as both teams went silent after the early exchange of goals.

The second half of play was a different story as head coach Dragan Stojković's men were smashed by Shenhua, scoring four goals in the last 24 minutes of the contest, courtesy of Giovanni Moreno, Cao Yunding, Demba Ba, and Obafemi Martins at the 66th, 76th, 84th, and 86th minutes respectively.

The loss dropped Guangzhou to the eighth spot of the league table, just three points above the bottom two relegation area.

Meanwhile, last-place team Changchun Yatai remained winless after nine rounds of competitions as they settled for a 0-0 draw with struggling contenders Shandong Luneng Taishan FC at their home field of Development Area Stadium last Saturday, via Soccerway.

The draw snapped Changchun's three-game losing skid, though, as they improved to three points in the overall standings.

The predicted result is a 2-0 win for Guangzhou R&F.
