Head coach Yasen Petrov's boys hosted the still so far only undefeated team of the season and also a highly-improved roster that now includes top international players Alex Teixeira, Ramires, Jô, and Trent Sainsbury.
Teixeira was banned for the game after being sent off in their last match against Beijing Guoan the week before.
The tie was the third consecutive winless performance of Ever Bright, dropping them to the 12th spot of the China top flight table.
Meanwhile, Beijing Guoan was blanked by newly-promoted squad Hebei China Fortune FC, 0-2, at their home ground of Workers' Stadium on Wednesday, as per Soccerway.
Local forward Dong Xuesheng scored the opening goal of the match during the first half stoppage time off an assist by Ivorian import Gervinho. Gervinho then netted Hebei's second goal six minutes into the second half of play, coming from a cross by teammate Luo Senwen, to finalize the count and hand manager Alberto Zaccheroni's squad another shutout loss.
The loss was the Imperial Guards' fourth of the season after nine rounds. Beijing is winless in four of their last five outings as they settle for the 10th spot of the league table, only a point above the bottom two relegation zone.
The predicted result is a tough 1-0 victory for Beijing Guoan.
