One of China's best known foreign coaches in the sports of football, the South Korean Lee Jang-soo, helped Changchun Yatai claim the club's first victory in the ongoing 2016 Chinese Super League (CSL) on Sunday. The Bolivian international Marcelo Moreno, who moved to the Chinese side last February 2015, netted the solitary goal in Changchun's 1-0 victory over the currently eighth ranked Guangzhou R&F to finally break in to the winning column of the league's table.

Moreno's powerful shot in the 74th minute nailed Changchun's first full three points this season. According to Xinhua, Lee was the former bench boss of the Guangzhou Evergrande in the year 2010 when the Southern China Tigers were downgraded from the CSL over a match-fixing scandal.
The former FC Seoul manager led the northeastern team back to the top flight and the CSL title in 2011. Under Lee's watch, Guangzhou also conquered the CFA Super Cup in February 2012.
When the Haman,Gyeongnam native Lee was officially named Changchun head coach early this month, the Yatai Goup-owned team were without a win this season after seven rounds. The 59-year-old South Korean, also known as the "Steel Coach" to the many of the Chinese football followers and enthusiast due to his tough training styles and methods, was tasked with pulling the ballclub out of the relegation zone.
Changchun currently sits at the bottom-low of the 16-team football league. The team had a record of one win, three draws and six losses.
Beijing Guoan, the 2009 league champions, drew with Shijiazhuang Ever Bright 1-1 and has gathered only 10 points from as many rounds. Shijiazhuang goalkeeper Guan Zhen scored a penalty in the 38th minute before Renato Augusto equalized in the 54th.
In the other games on Sunday, Hebei China Fortune edged Yanbian Fude and Shanghai Greenland downed Chongqing Lifan. Hebei's record improves to 6 wins in ten games.
