(Photo : Facebook) Nintendo’s new console, codenamed Nintendo NX, will hit the shelves Q1 2017.
There has been little word surrounding Nintendo's upcoming next console - Nintendo NX. With the device's release not expected until 2017, fans have yet to confirm any news surrounding Nintendo's new gaming device.
According to Christian Today, Nintendo has little to confirm about their new console, dubbed as Nintendo NX, but the device is speculated to pack a punch with a higher processor and better architecture.

The company was first speculated to be shopping around for new processors for the upcoming console, finally settling on a possible AMD processor. The report also stated that is possible that the new device would also have x86 CPUs that would make it more powerful that its predecessors. But these reports were quickly put to rest after Emily Rogers, a Nintendo reporter, quickly dismissed the rumors on the Nintendo NX.
Rogers quickly stated that the new console would have its own customized chips, but would have a more modern design than the consoles before it. This news, however, added some speculation as to what processor Nintendo NX would be sporting. It is more possible that the new gaming console would be using NVIDIA's Tegra processor. This would further support speculations of the Nintendo NX being more of a portable console.
This further confirms that the NX will not be your typical Nintendo console. Nintendo CEO Tatsumi Kimishima was also quick to clarify that to the media in a recent interview, wherein the CEO expects that the new device would have a bigger impact than their previous console, the Wii U.
Kimishima continues by saying "It's something very new. The hardware, the software lineup, all of it is something I'd like to play for the first time myself."
Nintendo has also pin-pointed their flaws on the previous Wii U console and hopes to not commit a similar mistake with the NX. The company is also taking their time with their new console, as it was originally set for a December 2016 release but it was since been moved for 2017 release.
