Chinese Super League 2016: Shanghai Shenhua vs Tianjin Teda, Preview, Prediction & Predicted Lineup

(Photo : Getty Images) Shanghai Shenhua striker Demba Ba. Shenhua will host Tianjin Teda at the Hongkou Football Stadium on Friday as the 2016 Chinese Super League season continues.

Contending teams Shanghai Greenland Shenhua FC (4-2-4, 16 points) and Tianjin Teda FC (4-2-4, 16 points) are set to face one another at the Hongkou Football Stadium on Friday, May 27 as the 2016 Chinese Super League season moves forward.

Shanghai is currently at the fifth spot of the China top flight table, four points behind third and fourth-placed squads Shanghai SIPG and Hebei China Fortune after ten rounds of competitions in the domestic league.

The team is coming off a tough 1-0 victory over Chongqing Lifan last Sunday at the Chongqing Olympic Sports Center to extend their winning run to two games, via Soccerway.

An own goal from Chongqing's Croatian defender Goran Milovic at the 22nd minute was the winning goal of the contest for head coach Gregorio Manzano's boys as the defense of both squads held up for much of the match.

The win was the fourth one for the Flower of Shanghai in the current term and also their third consecutive unbeaten effort.

Meanwhile, Tianjin Teda pulled off a huge 1-0 upset over second-running team Jiangsu Suning FC at their home field of Tianjin Olympic Center Stadium last Saturday, as per Sofa Score.

Senegalese striker Mbaye Diagne provided the lone goal for manager Dragan Okuka's side at the 24th minute off an assist by midfielder Guo Hao to give the Tianjin Tigers their fourth win of the season as well.

The Tigers have been impressive in their recent performances as the team is presently on a four-game unbeaten streak with triumphs against Shijiazhuang Ever Bright and Shandong Luneng and a draw with Henan Jianye in their previous three matchdays.

The predicted result is a close 1-0 win for Shanghai Shenhua.
