Chinese tech manufacturing brand, OnePlus, has been making waves in the tight and cut throat smartphone industry in the last few years. Since its establishment in December 2013, the company has released several handsets that have received positive reviews from critics and consumers alike.

OnePlus has made available the latest smartphone in its flagship line last August 2015. Like all the other OnePlus offerings, the OnePlus 2 has been a success. Because of the positive reception, fans of the brand have since been waiting patiently for news about the OnePlus' next flagship device. Fortunately for them, just yesterday, the company finally announced the arrival of the highly anticipated OnePlus 3.

On OnePlus' official forum site, the company confirmed the arrival of the OnePlus 3. In the official statement, it was revealed that the launch event would be happening through OnePlus' Loop VR headset. The upcoming event would be similar to the launch of the OnePlus 2 via OnePlus Cardboard viewers however this time the lucky few who would be privy to the event would get the chance to order the phone before anyone else in virtual reality.

"Instead of speaking to a few members of the press, to be able to bring all of you together at the same time, and same place. This is just as much your launch as it is ours. We can't wait to see what's next, so let's find out - together. Never Settle" read a part of the official statement released yesterday.

The recent announcement seem to have been accurately predicted by several tech insiders a few weeks ago. Evan Blass, a popular leakster on twitter, previously tweeted an image of the OnePlus 3, as reported by Android Police. The tweet, which was sent out last May 17, 2016, visibly includes the OnePlus 3 slogan "Never Settle."

The OnePlus Loop VR headset is available for free on the company's official website. 30,000 headsets would be distributed and shipped for free to consumers for the upcoming launch event of the OnePlus 3. Unfortunately, as of this writing the free Loop VR headset are already sold out.

OnePlus has yet to announce a specific date for the release. However, insiders believe the launch event for the OnePlus 3 would happen early in June.
