Ride-hailing food service app UberEATS landed in Singapore on Tuesday, May 25. This is the first country in Asia that the service is available in.
The standalone app is now available for download on iTunes or Google Play and offers a lot of food selection from around 100 restaurants in Singapore.

For now, the food delivery service is limited to the country's central area, as UberEats is still expanding its service coverage and menu.
Uber is facing tough competition in the country with other food delivery service providers like FoodPanda and Deliveroo.
However, UberEATS is likely to play well as it can promote itself to people who are registered with Uber. Since it uses the same map-routing algorithms, UberEATS can fast delivery of food within 35 minutes. Its tech infrastructure is also an advantage to gain wider margins, something its competitors are struggling to deal with, according to TechCrunch.
UberEATS's delivery driver program is different from its ride-sharing service, although all drivers can do both tasks.
Uber allegedly started enlisting restaurants and testing UberEATS in Singapore in April. UberEATS made its debut in Toronto in January before it spread to four major U.S. cities in March.
Singapore is the first Asian market Uber targeted to start its taxi-hailing service in February 2013. Even though the country is relatively small in population size, Uber believes it is the home of curios tech-savvy consumers who want to try something new, and it is one of Asia's top technology hubs.
