Recent rumors have emerged that two of the NBA's most storied franchises, the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics, would be targeting Toronto Raptors center Bismack Biyombo in the summer, who could cost around $20 million annually.

The 23-year-old Congolese is having a breakthrough performance in the ongoing Eastern Conference Finals against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers and it has reportedly caught the attention of some of the league's most popular but currently struggling teams.

Fansided reported that the Lakers and Celtics are "among the teams interested in signing Bismack Biyombo, who could cost $20M per year" this summer.

Biyombo was given the chance to move into Dwane Casey's starting lineup after the injury to Lithuanian big man Jonas Valanciunas, who went down during Game 3 of their second round series with the Miami Heat with a sprained right ankle. Valanciunas was back in Game 5 of their matchup with the Cavs, but Biyombo remained in the starting lineup.

The 6-foot-9 Lubumbashi, Congo native is undersized at his position but he makes it up with energy and on-court awareness especially on defense. He averaged 12.1 rebounds and 2.4 blocks during the games without Valanciunas, which suggests that he could be a diamond in the rough.

The seventh overall pick of the 2011 draft signed a two-year, $5.7 million deal with the Raptors before the start of 2015-2016 which has a player option at the end of the season. With his current play, the five-year pro is said to be set to receive offers in the region of $20 million per year from interested clubs when he becomes an unrestricted free agent on July 1.

Lakers Nation indicated that the Lakers are keen on signing Biyombo as the team has an "immediate area of need" at starting center with Roy Hibbert and Tarik Black "headed for restricted free agency" and are not expected to be brought back by Mitch Kupchak.

The report mentioned that a three-year, $60 million bid for Biyombo would be a "gamble" for the Hollywood squad as it would consume around one-third of the team's available salary cap and the team still needs to re-sign Jordan Clarkson while also making a move on Kevin Durant during free-agency.

The upside of Biyombo, however, are tremendous as he could grow as one of the league's elite centers alongside his fellow talented youngsters Julius Randle and D'Angelo Russell.
