Video game developer Square Enix has announced that the "Dragon Quest Builders" title will be released in Europe and North America. Square Enix added that the spin-off sandbox action role-playing game will hit the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4 consoles in October.

"Dragon Quest Builders" is a game that allows players to gather different kinds of resources and use them to create a unique world. Unlike the widely popular "Minecraft," "Dragon Quest Builders" has an engaging storyline, adorable NPCs, and monsters to do battle. All these aspects are considered by many gaming experts as the key pillars of the franchise.

Square Enix community manager Dan Seto said that the story of "Dragon Quest Builders" is a sort of a spin-off to the original "Dragon Quest" video game title.

In a statement acquired by GameSpot, Seto said, "In this story the realm has been destroyed because the hero (from Dragon Quest 1) who was supposed to save the world by defeating the evil Dragonlord, actually got tempted into accepting a sham deal with him."

Seto added that the result of such deal between the hero and the evil Dragonlord would eventually plunge the world into darkness and despair with survivors scattered everywhere.

In the game, players are tasked with rebuilding the world of Alefgard using various types of blocks. Players can also build various types of tools using gathered materials. These tools can be used to construct structures.

According to VG24/7, players will face a wide selection of monsters. This means that the game is more than just fulfilling requests from NPCs or simply putting blocks on top of each other.

The PlayStation 4 version of "Dragon Quest Builders" will be available in both physical and digital copies. On the other hand, only the digital copy of the game will be released for the PlayStation Vita.
