"Pokemon" fans are all hyped up as "Pokemon GO's" much-awaited beta version was finally rolled out last May 25.

However, only those who have signed up for the demo version will be able to try out the game on their iOS and Android phones, reported Venture Beat.

"This new app, which opens up to everyone later this year, is available now to anyone with an invite to the test," the tech website said.

As expected, the main task of a "Pokemon GO," player is to catch, train and battle pocket monsters.

One of most interesting features of "Pokémon Go," an augmented reality (AR) game, is that it uses the GPS of your smartphone to enable you to physically walk around the world to locate those creatures.

Gamers who have played "Pokemon GO's" beta version are pleased with what they have experienced, as they are now starting to understand how they'll be able deploy their captured "Pokemons" and engage them in battle.

Engaging in battle in "Pokémon Go" has also become more simplified, as compared to the traditional game play mechanics of the Game Boy, DS, and 3DS iterations players have been used to.

Gamers must also keep in mind that "Pokémon" gyms are fundamental to "Pokémon Go," as they exist in key, real-world locations.

As a "Pokemon" trainer, one of your primary goals is to take over as many gyms as possible for your team. You achieve this by sending in your crew.

Your "Pokemon" will automatically attack, but you can them avoid damage by swiping left and right on your screen to dodge.

The upcoming release of "Pokemon GO's" full version is expected to be a major launch for The Pokémon Company, as it seeks to capture a larger segment of the booming $36.9 billion mobile-gaming market.
