Close Inspection of ‘Doom’ Soundtrack Reveals 666 and Pentagrams

The long wait is drawing to a close as the reboot of the highly popular “Doom” franchise was finally given an official release date, May 13.

The recently released reboot of the classic shooter video game, "Doom" has a very interesting, although a bit controversial, Easter egg hidden deep in its code. One of the widely known secrets is that somewhere in the levels of the new "Doom" game is a version of the classic game from 1993. However, a very keen player was able to discover an incredibly obscure secret in the game.

A Reddit user using the handle Tomcb reported that when he ran the soundtrack of "Doom" through a spectrogram software, he was able to find Pentagram symbols and the number 666, both of which have are closely tied to Satanism, according to Mirror.

The music industry has had its fair share of myths about certain songs which, when player backward, reveal hidden messages, most of which have Satanic references. With the recent discovery from "Doom," it appears that the gaming community is also throwing its hat into the bandwagon.

The developer of "Doom," id Software, is yet to comment on the presence of the pentagram and the number 666 on the game's soundtrack. However, id Software is known in the gaming community for planting various Easter eggs and hidden secrets in its games. The manipulation of sonic frequencies is apparently the company's way of raising the bar even higher when it comes to secrets hidden in video games.

"Doom" composer Mick Gordon has officially confirmed the presence of certain Satanic symbols in the game. The latest discovery simply adds the hype to the game and urges gamers to find more hidden secrets.

Some discussions related to "Doom" claim that there is another Easter egg hidden in the game. This one apparently is a reference to the movie "Terminator 2." Gamers who have discovered this claim that when a player jumps into molten lava and slowly submerges to death, the character can be seen giving a thumbs up sign, according to Neowin.
