It seems like Chinese tech giant Huawei plans to launch a new member to its Honor sub-brand this year, as a new device - with the codename Faraday - is reportedly in the works. The handset is said to be called Honor 8 and will feature a rear-facing 12 megapixel dual camera setup like that of the recently-launched Honor V8. As the name implies, the device is the new successor to last year's Honor 7 model.

Specs-wise, it is said that the Honor 8 will come with a 5.2-inch display screen, covered by a 2.5D curved glass on the back. Under the hood, the device is expected to be powered by either a Kirin 950 or Kirin 955 chipset, accompanied by a whopping 4GB of RAM and a 3,000 mAh battery.
According to Phone Arena, the phone could also come with support for USB Type-C port connector, an infrared transceiver for appliances and wireless charging. Unfortunately, other specs like storage capacity and the front-facing camera still remain unclear.
Furthermore, reports claim that the Huawei Honor 8 is expected to be the most beautifully-designed smartphone from the company's sub-brand. To compare the Honor 8 with its predecessor, the Honor 7 came out with a 5.2-inch Full HD screen, a Kirin 935 processor, 3GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB/64GB of built-in memory storage, and a non-removable 3,100 mAh battery.
As for the release date and pricing, there's no word on when exactly the Honor 8 will arrive in the market and how much it will cost. However, since the Honor 7 was launched in June last year, it's possible that the upcoming phone will see the light of day sometime next month.
