Since Samsung will host its latest event in New York today, rumor has it that the Korean tech giant will finally showcase its rumored latest Galaxy Note series - Galaxy Note 6.

Samsung already sent invites for today's event, though it does not provide clues on what the company may be announcing; however, it is expected that the tech giant will reveal new products such as Gear Fit 2, Icon X wireless earbuds, Galaxy Note 6 or even Galaxy Note 7.

According to ET News, it is likely that they will be announcing a new Galaxy Note device; however, it is said that Samsung opted to bypass Galaxy Note 6 name for the new iteration, and instead will name it as Galaxy Note 7.

It is said that this move by Samsung was due to how consumers remark the Galaxy Note Series. Since Samsung's S series is already at its 7th iteration, potential consumers may think that Galaxy S7 is more powerful than the upcoming Galaxy Note 6, so changing it to Samsung Galaxy Note 7 would be an effective approach to draw more consumers buying the product.

Along with the decision of name change, it is rumored that the Galaxy Note 6, or Galaxy Note 7, will carry a dual edge design to make the new phablet more appealing. In addition, the upcoming Galaxy Note device is rumored to be equipped with a new waterproof design, 6GB RAM, Iris scanner and will feature Android N OS.

Meanwhile, although it is loud that the unveiling date of the Galaxy Note 6 (Galaxy Note 7) is today, June 2, a reliable tipster Evan Blass tweeted that the next Galaxy Note iteration will be released on Aug. 7.

More news about Samsung's Galaxy Note 6/Galaxy Note 7 should be made available in the coming weeks.
