Xiaomi has unveiled a brand new wearable device called Mi Band 2, which is the third fitness tracking device after the Mi Band and Mi Band Pulse.

According to the Chinese smartphone maker, the company has sold more than 20 million activity trackers already, making it the second largest fitness tracker company behind Fitbit. Like with other products, Xiaomi is able to capture market share with a very aggressive pricing strategy.

Design-wise, Mi Band 2 is a sleek fitness tracker. The band is made of silicone and is hypoallergenic, and will be available in a variety of colors: black, blue, green and orange. There is an ultra-thin button on top of the device itself, which is IP67-certified which means it is both dust and water-resistant. The wearable is slightly larger than the first generation to accommodate a 0.42-inch OLED screen.

The Mi Band 2 includes an accelerometer designed to more accurately count the user’s steps and a built-in sensor to determine the heart rate. In addition to tracking steps, the Mi Band 2 will monitor sleep, and it will vibrate to let the users know if they have been sedentary for too long.

User will be able to get around 20 days of life on a single battery charge, 10 days less than the original Mi Band. Sensors include an ADI accelerometer and optical heart rate sensor, as well as Bluetooth 4.0. Xiaomi claims to have updated the pedometer algorithm for more accurate step counts.

Its OLED display makes it easier to glance down at the device to either check the time or view your step progress, which is something many fitness trackers can do now. The new model is clearly more usable on its own, which is something that can prove useful while jogging or doing any kind of exercise where user simply do not want to handle the smartphone.

Xiaomi’s new Mi Band 2 will go on sale for about $23 and it will be available in China starting June 7. The company did not reveal if or when the Mi Band 2 would be available outside of China.
