Recent reports are out that the Philadelphia 76ers are currently discussing a potential swap with the Atlanta Hawks involving Nerlens Noel and Jeff Teague.

The Sixers and Hawks are "discussing a possible trade" that would revolve around the former's incoming third-year center and the latter's starting point guard, but "an agreement isn't imminent", according to Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania.

Rumors had lately swirled around that Philadelphia is looking to unload either Noel or sophomore Jahlil Okafor before the 2016 NBA Draft on June 23 as they want to acquire a veteran point guard that would lead their young team moving forward.

The impending debut of 2014 third overall pick Joel Embiid and the coming of 22-year-old Dario Saric from Europe also said to have made either one of the two big men expendable.

With the Sixers intending to select LSU small forward Ben Simmons as the top pick on draft night, they will add another young player to their already inexperienced squad, and so new team president and general manager Bryan Colangelo allegedly wants a young veteran to come and spearhead his squad next season.

Enter Atlanta's Teague.

SB Nation noted that if the Noel-Teague trade pushes through, then it is a signal that former executive Sam Hinkie's "The Process" is already finished as Colangelo and head coach Brett Brown is ready to win once again.

It mentioned, however, that Hinkie's fans "would not be thrilled with this rumor just weeks into the younger Colangelo's tenure" as it is said to be an "anti-Hinkie deal".

The report said that Hinkie would never "trade a young, potential-ridden, cheaper asset who can be locked up up to five more seasons this summer for an older, lower-ceiling player at a need position who will become mighty expensive in exactly one year's time".

However, his successor, Colangelo, has other things in mind and has evidently gotten the blessings of the team owners, who had grown tired of Hinkie's vision, to divert from "The Process" and start winning again.

Whether it would be good for the team and the fans remains to be seen as the offseason approaches.
