Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus recently confirmed that its upcoming flagship device, the OnePlus 3, will be officially launched on June 14.

Along with the new announcement, OnePlus also confirmed that it will drop the invite system which the company adopted for some of its previous smartphones.

The OnePlus invite system requires interested buyers to register their interest towards a specific OnePlus mobile phone. After registering, potential buyers will have to wait for the company to send them an invitation to formally purchase the device.

OnePlus officially ceased the invite system for the OnePlus 2 smartphone back in December 2015 and in January of this year for the OnePlus X. It appears that OnePlus finally realized that instituting the invite system was not well received by consumers.

The company announced that the OnePlus 3, along with all its subsequent devices, will be available for all to purchase without the need for an invite.

In a statement posted on the official OnePlus forum, the company stated, "With the OnePlus 3, we're officially saying goodbye to invites. It's a big step for us as a company, our fans, and fellow tech enthusiasts. We're proud to have reached a point where we feel confident in making our new device available without invites from day one."

OnePlus has yet to release the official specs of the upcoming OnePlus 3. However, there are rumors that the smartphone will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset and an Adreno 530 GPU. There is also speculation that the smartphone will feature a 5.5-inch display with a 1080p resolution.

The basic model will reportedly have 4GB of RAM while the premium model is believed to sport 6GB. According to 9to5Google, the OnePlus 3 will be available in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB storage variants.

As far as its cost is concernced, speculations estimate that the OnePlus 3 will have a starting price of around $349 for the base model and will go upto $425 for the high-end model.
