Tech giant Microsoft has rolled out a new app that will challenge the dominance of Adobe Spark Post and startups like Canva.
Microsoft's new app is called Sprightly, and just like its competitors, the app allows small businesses to create and design catalogs, coupons, fliers, e-cards and price lists using a smartphone. Sprightly also allows users to easily share their creations on various social media platforms.

Sprightly is one of the many projects created by Microsoft's emerging research and development division, the Microsoft Garage.
The app, released on the Android platform earlier this year, is now available for iOS users too, Microsoft announced on Tuesday. The company also announced new features for the app, which include new templates in a variety of different styles and colors.
Sprightly is extremely easy to use. All you need to do is take a photo or upload one from your gallery and then embed it onto an existing template, which you can also customize to your liking. The finished design can then be easily shared social media or sent through email. The app also allows users to print a PDF version of their design.
"Every image, every catalog would come from the head office, which would take nearly one month for it to get updated. But now with Sprightly, I'm able to click immediate pictures of all the fans here on display, make a price list, make a catalog of the same and send it across to clients. It's been a real great problem solver," said Sprightly user Sanjana Shah during the app's launch.
Sprightly is just one of the many experimental apps developed by Microsoft Garage. The division is also responsible for many other innovative apps like the Word Flow keyboard, a type of keyboard that allows users to customize their smartphone keyboard and predict what they are going to write.
