The 2015 FIVB World Cup Most Valuable Player Zhu Ting led all scorers with 13 points to steer the Chinese team to their second victory after two outings. The 21-year-old native of Zhoukou, Henan, who recently signed a reported US$1 million deal with Turkish club Vakif Bank Istanbul, was the Asian giant's main attacking weapon with 11 spikes and two blocks.

With the victory, the Chinese team improved their head-to-head record against Germany to 18 victories from 19 starts.

The FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix, which the Asian giants won on 2003, is the last and the most important competition for China prior to the team's Olympic campaign. The national team finished fourth in the tournament that was held in Omaha, United States last year.

China is currently ranked No. 2 in the world by the FIVB only next to the United States. The decorated national team has competed in eight Summer Olympics and triumphantly brought glory to their country by bagging gold medals in Los Angeles (1984) and Athens (2004).

In China's 13 appearances, the Asian powerhouse won the World Championship title in 1982 and 1986, taking the gold medal in Peru and Czechoslovakia, respectively. China dominated the FIVB Volleyball World Cup in the years 1981, 1985, 2003 and 2015 and conquered the Asian Games on 13 occasions.

China will be facing the defending champions and current world No. 1 Team USA on Sunday.
