Peru take on Colombia in the second quarterfinals of the ongoing Copa America Centenario at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ on Friday.

The South American football championship has entered into its knockout stage the first quarterfinal match of the tournament will be played between hosts USA and Ecuador on Thursday.

Argentina, Mexico and Venezuela have also also booked a place in the knockout round of the competition.

Colombia suffered a surprise 3-2 defeat against Costa Rica in their last group stage match at the NRG stadium, Houston on Saturday as

Johan Venegas and Celso Borges scored Costa Rica's three goals, while, Colombia's Frank Fabra and Marlos Moreno grabbed a goal each for their side.

In spite of the loss to Costa Rica, Colombia advanced to the quarterfinals stage of the tournament.

Peru, on the other hand, pulled off a surprise 1-0 victory over Brazil on Sunday, knocking out the tournament favorites.  

Brazil manager Dunga, however, blasted the match referee for allowing Peru's winning 'handball' goal.

"Everyone saw what happened today. There's nothing to do. If you do not have images, all work can be [thrown] off. We cannot change what everyone saw. The imponderable, there's nothing we can do," Dunga said, according to ESPN. "It was a very disputed game. We dominated the first half, while in the second half, at the end, what happened is independent of the coach and the players."
