The Cyanogen version 13.1 update is rolling out to the OnePlus One smartphone, which brings Microsoft's features to the device.

The latest version of the Cyanogen operating system is MOD-ready, which means that manufacturers can tweak parts of the Android-based operating system, a feature that was not available in the previous versions of the OS.

The Cyanogen 13.1 update already features some tweaks right out of the box, in fact some of the mods introduced in February were already integrated on the update. Most of these mods allow developers to embed Microsoft's features into various parts of the operating system. For example, users of the Cyanogen 13.1 operating system can now make Skype calls directly from a smartphone's Phone app or use OneNote to take notes while using the Email and Phone apps.

Aside from the Skype and OneNote features, the Cyanogen 13.1 update will also introduce Android users to Microsoft Hyperlapse and an updated Cortana app. According to reports, the update allows users to access the Cortana app even while the OnePlus One is locked.

As for the Microsoft Hyperlapse feature, it enables users to create time-lapse videos without the aid of a tripod. These time-lapse videos can be created simply by opening the camera app and switching it to the Hyperlapse mode. Once the video is recorded, users can simply set the speed at which they want the video to be played.

The Cyanogen 13.1 update also includes features that are not inspired from Microsoft's apps. One of these features allows users to access trending tweets even if the device is in lock screen mode. However, this feature needs both Twitter and Cortana lock screen mods to be activated via the phone's settings.
