Hours after releasing the brand new gameplay trailer and hour-long multiplayer footage of Battlefield 1, Electronic Arts has released the first set of multiplayer maps and modes from the upcoming World War 1 shooter.

The first one is the Amiens map, where the clash between British and German forces takes place in the French city of the same name. Based on the details provided by EA, the Amiens map will pit players against the claustrophobic environment riddled with collapsing alleyways, a courthouse along bridges and railways in the heart of the city.

The second map is the St. Quentin Scar, which is perhaps the most authentic recreation of a World War 1 battleground in recent video game history. The map allows players to relive the experience of trench warfare in the battlefields of northern France. When playing the German faction, players will need to break through the British line in an effort to reach the village of Travecy.

The Monte Grappa map takes players to the peaks of the Venetian Alps. This map highlights the aerial battles of the First World War where zeppelins and bi-planes turned the skies into an unforgiving battle arena. The Austro Hungarian Empire go up against the Italian forces in this map.

Finally, the Empire's Edge map is set in Italy along the scenic Adriatic coast. The map has been described as a "rugged but fortified shore," which turns into a battlefield "where waves and dreadnought battleships pound the remains of Italy's Great War."

As for the game's modes, EA has confirmed two modes so far: Conquest and Domination. EA is planning to release a third mode called Operations, where players are tasked with pushing forward until they conquer the entire map while the defending team has the chance to reinforce on a new map, a feature that suggests that the Operations mode will be a series of interconnected battles.
