Electronic Arts have released a list of new features and game modes from its upcoming football title FIFA 17.
According to EA Sports, FIFA 17 will have new game-changing features, along with the usual inclusion of supplemental tweaks and updates.
As part of its marketing strategy, EA has tapped four famous footballers to be the ambassadors of FIFA 17. These include James Rodriguez from Real Madrid, Eden Hazard from Chelsea, Anthony Martial from Manchester United, and Marco Reus from Borussia Dortmund. The most important upgrade to FIFA 17 is its adoption of the Frostbite game engine. Frostbite is a game engine developed by EA Dice, the same studio behind the Battlefield series, who is known for its impressive and groundbreaking graphics.
EA has used the same engine in other popular titles like Mirror's Edge: Catalyst, Battlefield 1, and Mass Effect: Andromeda.
In a statement to The Guardian, FIFA 17 producer Aaron McHardy said, "We've been working on this transition for over two years - it was a massive undertaking. It allows authentic, true-to-like action; we're one step closer to making the game look real."
In FIFA 17, EA is also introducing a new story mode called The Journey, a feature which McHardy described as "the biggest new Fifa mode since Ultimate Team."
The Journey is a role-playing adventure game set within the gaming confines of FIFA. The mode puts players in the shoes of rookie Alex Hunter as he starts his career with the club that the player chooses. Aside from playing Hunter on the pitch, players will also be given a peek into the rookie's like as he makes his way up the ranks to earn a spot in the first team.
FIFA 17 will be released on Sept. 29 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC platforms.
