In her book, "I Hate Everyone and Myself", Rivers wrote that she wanted her funeral to be "a huge showbiz affair."

Indeed, it was a "huge showbiz affair" as celebrities flocked to the temple to pay their last respects to the comedy icon.

Among those who attended were actress Jessica Parker, radio host Howard Stern, mogul Donald Trump, comic Cathy Griffin, and film star Whoopi Goldberg.

Rivers, who died on Thursday, wrote in her 2012 book that she wanted a red carpet funeral with Meryl Streep crying in five different accents. She wanted a wind blower to blow her hair non-stop like that of Beyoncé.

Joan died a week after she underwent a routine procedure where she suddenly suffered a cardiac arrest. She was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital where she was placed under a medically induced coma.

Reports said that she was put on life support. She died days after. She was 81.

Howard Stern delivered the eulogy where he said that Rivers was "a best friend in the world".

He described Joan as a big sister and a crazy aunt in bar Mitzvah.

Other speakers included Melissa Rivers, Joan's daughter;  best friend Margie Stern; TV journalist Deborah Norville; and New York Post columnist Cindy Adams.

Actor Hugh Jackman rendered the song "Quiet Please There's A Lady On Stage" from the musical "The Boy from Oz", while theater actress Audra McDonald sang "Smile".

The New York City Gay Men's Chorus performed Broadway hits. The New York City Police Department served as the bagpipers.
