Narcos, which follows the gripping story of nefarious drug kingpin Pablo Escobar and his reign of terror in Colombia during the late 1980s, stars Wagner Moura as Escobar, Boyd Holbrook and Pedro Pascal, who play real-life DEA agents Steve Murphy and Javier Pena.
The first season was well received by critics and fans alike, with many lauding Moura for his portrayal of the Colombian drug lord.
The Brazilian actor recently revealed how playing the evil drug kingpin affected him personally and shared the challenges he faced before finally landing the role.
"It was the craziest thing I've ever done. I didn't speak Spanish, I wasn't thin - I wasn't the obvious choice to play this character," he told The Hollywood Reporter.
Back in season one, the show's cast and crew were not really on the top of their game going into production, said Moura. But as the show heads for its second run, he explained that the team is all set to take on the show and continue where they left off.
"Now, production-wise, script-wise, and character-wise, we are all more prepared," said Wagner.
Narcos joins other Netflix shows to hit television screens this year including Orange Is The New Black, House of Cards, Marvel's Luke Cage, The Crown, and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
The streaming giant recently picked up Big Mouth, an animated comedy created by Nick Kroll. It also greenlit a female wrestling comedy, Glow, which is set in Los Angeles during the 1980s. The series hails from Jenji Kohan, the creator and showrunner of Netflix original Orange Is The New Black.
