"To improve the future of the (China) National Team you have to start at grassroots level," Owen said during his message at the International Festival of Business in Liverpool. "Our program will provide children in China with the opportunity of learning about football and the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and improved fitness."
Owen also noted that their plan is to keep a continuous "stream of talented youngsters" that will be trained to one day be available to join Chinese professional clubs and the national squad, which he said will "undoubtedly benefit" the nation's goals when it comes to the sport.
Meanwhile, Wright said that their team is "delighted" to collaborate with the Chinese government regarding to the country's future in football and that they are amazed by their reaction to the suggested plans.
"We will be utilizing not only mine and Michael's experience but we have also secured a stable of high-profile former footballers who will be assisting in the delivery of the programs," Wright added, as per the Liverpool Echo.
