Newly-promoted club Yanbian Funde FC (3-7-3, 12 points) will take on the challenge of defending champions Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao FC (10-1-2, 32 points) in a 2016 Chinese Super League season match to be held at their home field of Yanji Nationwide Fitness Centre Stadium this Saturday, June 18.

Yanbian Funde dropped to the 10th spot of the China top flight table after the team lost two consecutive games and three of their last four outings overall.

In their most recent game, Yanbian was nipped by contending squad Henan Jianye FC, 0-1, on the road at the Zhengzhou Hanghai Stadium on Wednesday in a mid-week CSL match, as per Soccerway.

Australian defender Ryan McGowan netted the lone goal of the contest at the 13th minute for Henan as the hosts successfully pulled off a clean sheet against head coach Park Tae-ha's struggling offense.

Yanbian was shut out in all of their three losses in the last four games, which indicates that the team is really having trouble scoring.

Meanwhile, Guangzhou Evergrande went back to their winning ways after two straight drawn matches as they blanked another contending team, Tianjin Teda FC, 2-0, at their home ground of Tianhe Stadium on Tuesday, China.org reported.

An unfortunate own goal from Tianjin center back Aleksandar Jovanovic, McGowan's fellow Socceroo, opened the scoring of the match at the 23rd minute before Brazilian attacking midfielder Ricardo Goulart doubled the lead eight minutes after the restart.

It was the 10th win in 13 rounds for the Southern China Tigers as they continue to hold the top spot in the overall standings.

World Cup-winning head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari's boys are the favorites to win in this match as they try to build another winning streak this term.

The predicted result is a 2-0 win for Guangzhou Evergrande.
