Middling squads Guangzhou R&F FC (4-6-3, 15 points) and Beijing Guoan FC (4-4-4, 16 points) are scheduled to meet at the Yuexiushan Stadium on Sunday, June 19 as they both look to climb the 2016 Chinese Super League table.

Guangzhou R&F is reeling at the moment as they had been winless in four of their last five matches. The team's offense is noticeably struggling as they only scored three goals in the said time span and were shut out twice in three consecutive losses from rounds 9 to 11.

Currently, they are at the ninth spot of the 16-team China top flight table, six points above the bottom two relegation zone and 11 points behind the third and last Champions League qualification berth held by Jiangsu Suning.
