Following the launch of three new devices that will join the Zenfone 3 family at the 2016 Computex conference, Asus recently unveiled the fourth device to join the lineup. Dubbed Zenfone Pegasus 3, the device will be marketed as an entry-level flagship smartphone and will appeal to consumers with a tight budget.

Just like its higher-end siblings, the Zenfone Pegasus 3 sports a metal chassis which adds durability to its build. On the other hand, Asus had to cut some corners in order to make the smartphone viable to the market.

The Zenfone Pegasus 3 has a 5.2-inch display. However, instead of 1080p resolution, Asus dropped down to 720p. The Pegasus 3 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, with Asus' own ZenfUI 3.0 interface on top.

At the heart of Zenfone Pegasus 3 is a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz, the maker of which is still unconfirmed. As for its memory and storage space, the smartphone will be released in two variants: one has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage, the other has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage space.

Zenfone Pegasus 3 has a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for taking selfies. In comparison, higher-end Zenfone 3 models sport a 16-megapixel rear-facing main camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.

The Zenfone Pegasus 3 boasts a fingerprint scanner embedded on the back of the device, and it also supports dual-SIM functionality, LTE support, and a massive 4,100mAh battery pack, which promises extended usage time due to the smartphone's relatively low power requirement.

The Asus Zenfone 3 has four color variants: gray, silver, gold, and rose gold. Pricing starts at about 1298 yuan ($197) for the model with 2GB RAM and 1496 yuan ($227) for the model with 3GB of RAM. The Pegasus 3 is slated to be launched first in China, with other international markets to follow shortly afterwards.
