The latest start-up to take the Internet by storm is a company called Plume, which uses plug-in pods to boost your WiFi connection.
There are times when people don't get adequate WiFi connectivity or speed in a room, prompting them to purchase range boosters and powerline plugs to fix the problem.

Eero is also one such option. The system improves WiFi performance using hubs that are placed in rooms that have poor connectivity. Plume's WiFi system works along similar lines and eliminates the need for a router. It uses a series of "Pods" that are plugged into power sockets wherever you need WiFi.
The system uses intelligent cloud-based technology to transmit the signal between the five or six pods placed around the house, depending on the usage, in order to maximize Internet bandwidth and provide lightning-fast Internet.
It boosts WiFi coverage with the help of a feature called "Adaptive WiFi," which is essentially "a deeply distributed, whole-home Wi-Fi solution that dynamically responds to varying Wi-Fi conditions."
The setup takes no more than two minutes using Plume's app, which also allows you to control the WiFi system and also invite guests onto the network. A feature we've seen in Eero.
Plume started accepting pre-sale orders on Thursday and one hexagonal pod is priced at $39 each or $240 for six, which is recommended for an average-sized apartment.
The product will ship in fall, after which each pod will cost you $10 more, which is still a bargain when compared to Eero, which retails for $200.
Plume goes on pre-sale Thursday at a price of $39 per hexagonal device (which will later jump to $49), or $240 for six, which is the number the company recommends for an average apartment. It recommends eight or more for homes, or one device per room or hallway. Delivery is expected in the fall.
