Paco Jemez, the former bench boss of the Spain's second tier division club Rayo Vallecano, has become the head coach of the Spanish BBVA Primera Liga club Granada.
The 46-year-old Spaniard has signed a three-year contract as confirmed by the Nazeries, who were sold to Chinese firm Link International Sports earlier this month. Jemez replaces Jose Gonzalez, who steered Granada to a 16th-placed finish last season after taking over the reins from the sacked Jose Ramon Sandoval in February this year.

Jemez, a native of Las Palmas, joins the 85-year-old football club, following a stint of four campaigns with the Madrid-based side, which ended with Rayo being demoted to the Spanish Second Division (Liga Adelante) at the end of last season. He has registered a record of 52 wins, 26 draws, and 76 losses in the 154 matches that he spent as the Los Vallecanos bench tactician.
A former defender, Jemez has earned himself a reputation as a man who made the best of his club's low financial budget and the huge turnover in players at the conclusion of every season. He is also known for his cavalier style of play, which saw Rayo always try and play attacking football against their rivals, rather than trying to sit back and defend.
Link International Sports owner Jiang Lizhang bought a majority stake from the previous owners, the Italian Pozzo family.
Granada avoided relegation last season, and with the recent acquisition by Lizhang, a better monetary source could bolster Granada's capabilities. Jiang's plan is for Granada to qualify for Europe within the next three seasons.
"Our goal is to enhance all areas of the club to continue making our own history in the league and to get as far as possible.'' Jiang Lizhang told in Granada's website.
