The death of Star Trek actor, Anton Yelchin via a car accident surprised everyone over the weekend. Now, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that the Jeep Grand Cherokee the 27-year-old star was riding was set to be recalled.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles issued a recall for all of its 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokees, as the company is receiving complaints about the vehicle's gear shifters.

In fact, the automobile company admitted that the shifters had already led to 41 instances of damage.
These injuries happened in various places, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's complaints database.
Yelchin died after he left his SUV in neutral gear. His vehicle rolled down the driveway and crashed into him.
The actor's body was found between a fence and his car.
The spokesman for the Los Angeles county medical examiner, Ed Winter, verified that the Green Room star died from accidental "blunt traumatic asphyxia."
However, he explained that Yelchin's death is still under investigation.
"At this time, all indications appear to lead our investigators to believe this was a tragic accident," the LAPD said in a statement.
"The investigation is ongoing so we have not made any final determination as to the cause of the accident only that it does appear to be accidental and not an intentional act," the law enforcement agency added.
"The vehicle is a 2015 black Jeep Grand Cherokee," the statement continued. "It appears that the vehicle rolled backward on the sloped driveway pinning the victim between the vehicle and a pillar."
