The Xiaomi Mi 5s smartphone is expected to be released in the second half of this year, according to rumors. It will be an upgraded version of its predecessor Xiaomi Mi 5.
The Mi 5s is expected to have a pressure sensitive display to enable functionality similar to the Apple's 3D Touch. Apple first introduced the pressure-sensitive display on the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus to let users access different app shortcuts and other functions by just pressing down harder on the phone's display. This feature is called 3D Touch.

Meanwhile, the Mi 5s will also utilize Qualcomm's ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. This type of technology is a bit more advanced than the standard fingerprint readers. This technology works by sending an ultrasonic pulse against a finger to enable an accurate reading and to provide a complex image of the user's fingerprint. This technology will also be faster than the standard scanners.
The Mi 5s smartphone will also feature a rear camera with dual-camera setup, 6 GB of RAM, and a 5.15-inch 1080p full high-definition display. Other specifications of the upcoming device are similar to the Mi 5.
There are rumors that a variant of the Mi 5 called Xiaomi Mi 5 Mini will have a 4.3-inch high-definition display, Snapdragon 820, 3 GB of RAM, 2350 mAh battery, fingerprint scanner, and 13-megapixel rear camera with a price tag of $273.
At the moment, it is unclear when the Xiaomi Mi 5s will hit the market.
