Memphis Grizzlies Select Wade Baldwin IV 17th Overall, Wang Zhelin 57th in the 2016 NBA Draft

Memphis Grizzlies selected Vanderbilt's Wade Baldwin IV as the No.17 overall pick in the first round and Chinese center Wang Zhelin as the 57th overall pick in the second round of the 2016 NBA Draft on Thursday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn New York.
The Commodore's sophomore guard is averaging 14.1 points, 4.0 rebounds and 5.2 assists (third in the Southeastern Conference) in 30.4 minutes of playing time per contest. Baldwin has appeared in 33 games and played as a starter in 30 matches last season at Vanderbilt University.

The 20-year-old native of Belle Mead, New Jersey registered a total of 172 assists in two seasons and earned Second Team All-SEC honors. Baldwin has a 42.7 percent shooting average from the field (135-of-316 FG), 40.6 percent from beyond the arc (41-of-101 3P) and 79.9 percent from the foul line (155-of-194 FT).
Wang has played with the Fujian Sturgeons in the Chinese Basketball Association for four seasons and holds career averages of 20.8 points, 11.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 36.2 minutes on the hard wood. The 22-year-old native of Fuzhou, Fujian has played 111 games and came in as a starter for 104 official matches.
He is a 7-foot, 220 pounds big man, who first made a name for himself on the global basketball scene in 2012 as part of the World Select Team that beat the United States Junior National Select Team 84-75 at the Nike Hoop Summit. Wang poured in 19 points on an impressive 8-of-11 shooting to go along with eight boards in the victory.
Wang has represented China in FIBA competitions at the youth level in the 2010 U17 Worlds and the 2012 U19 Worlds and also played with China's senior men's national team at the FIBA Asia Championship in 2013 and 2015.
Wang joined fellow Chinese big man Zhou Qi, who was selected as the 43rd overall by the Houston Rockets in the second round the Draft night.
