The newest Apple iPhone model is slated to be released in September, and the tech community is abuzz with leaks and rumors regarding the upcoming smartphone. In China, a recent leak revealed the official price of the Apple iPhone 7 as well as a handful of interesting specs.

A recently posted photo on the Chinese social networking site Weibo shows what is believed to be the rear casing of the standard 4.7-inch iPhone 7. The most interesting feature on the leaked photo is that the camera opening is significantly larger compared to that of the iPhone 6. This leads many tech analyst to believe that the upcoming iPhone model will have a new camera with a bigger CMOS sensor.

Previous leaks reveal that the iPhone 7 will be available in two variants, based on its screen panel size; one measures 4.7 inches, while the bigger one measures 5.5 inches.

Experts believe that a bigger camera sensor can increase light sensitivity and make it easier for users to snap photos with a deliberately blurred background. Moreover, increased light sensitivity means that the camera can perform better in low light environments, an area many smartphone makers have yet to fully conquer.

Another interesting rumor claims that at least one variant of the Apple iPhone 7 will have the standard 3.5mm headphone jack, a feature previously rumored to have been completely ditched by Apple.

One more rumor that is getting a lot of attention is the possibility of a new 256GB model. On the other hand, the availability of the new model could mean that Apple will be ditching the 16GB version of its flagship smartphone.

As for its price, rumors claim that the 256GB model could pack a price tag of around $1,000. The iPhone 7 Plus will costs somewhere between $925 and $1197. A new model called the iPhone 7 Pro is believed to start at around $1,075, with the high-end model packing price tag of $1,349.
