Top mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Eric "The Natural" Kelly of the Philippines endured a brutal first round technical knockout loss at the hands of the one-time ONE featherweight world titleholder Narantungalag Jadambaa of Mongolia in the main event of the ONE Championship at the Hefei Olympic Sports Center in China on Saturday night.

The 40-year-old native of Bugat, Bulgan recorded an outstanding knockout victory over the Filipino MMA warrior with a huge right hand and follow-up shot that sent Kelly down to the canvass, forcing match official to call off the fight. The bout lasted for less than a minute, according to PhilBoxing.com.

According to Rappler, Kelly, a native of Highland Baguio City, is considered the Philippines' best homegrown MMA fighter. This is his second-straight defeat, dropping his professional fighting record to 12 wins and three losses. It was also the Filipino boxer's first knockout loss of his career.

Jadambaa, on the other hand, registered his second consecutive victory this year. He has improved his MMA professional record to 11-4.

With the win, the Mongolian veteran kickboxer has booked a world title showdown and the chance to reclaim his former title against the ruling ONE Championship featherweight king Marat Gafurov of Russia. Jadambaa lost his featherweight belt to the Russian MMA fighter in Beijing in November last year.

Billed as "Dynasty of Champions," the event saw the return of Asia's largest sports media property in the continent's history to China. The well-known world-class mixed martial arts competition, ONE Championship, came back to China to showcase elite MMA fighters from the country around the globe.
