Australian star Tim Cahill made his presence felt in his Chinese Super League squad Hangzhou Greentown's 4-2 win over struggling team Yanbian Funde on Sunday at the Yanji Nationwide Fitness Centre Stadium.

The 36-year-old Socceroo, whose contract with the Green Giants is set to expire later this July, netted the opening goal of the contest in the fifth minute, skillfully gathering a pass from defender Cao Haiqing and shooting his trademark header towards the back of Chi Wenyi's net, as per Football Australia.

It was the fourth goal of the season for the Australia national team's all-time leading goalscorer, which made Hangzhou climb out of the bottom two relegation area to 13th place in the overall standings, two points above demotion, at the moment.

Cahill's goal initiated two more quick goals, courtesy of midfielder Huang Xiyang, off an assist by Brazilian striker Denilson Gabionetta, and Gabionetta's penalty kick, at the 15th and 19th minutes of the game respectively to build a 3-0 lead in under 20 minutes of play.

Yanbian's South Korean import Yoon Bit-garam scored one from a cross by compatriot Ha Tae-goon at the 36th minute before Hangzhou forward Tan Yang made it 4-1 for the visitors at the 45th minute.

Bubacarr Trawally scored another goal for last season's China League One champions at the 88th minute to cut the lead to 4-2, but his heroics were not enough to stop Hangzhou from claiming only their fourth win of the season after 16 rounds.

Meanwhile, ESPN reported that Cahill goal was a "reminder of his abilities to suitors Melbourne City".

The A-League club is rumored to be luring the 5-foot-10 Sydney native back to Australia this summer after he finishes his contract with Greentown at the end of the month.

The report noted that the former Everton and New York Red Bulls striker "has been heavily linked to a move to Melbourne City after the introduction of the A-League full season guest player rule for 2016-17, which allows star names to be paid above the salary cap, in addition to the club's marquee signings".
