The current table leader Shaanxi Xinda Wolves continued their winning run after crushing the lowly 12th-ranked Jianghuai Lightning in a lopsided 106-80 triumph in the 17th round of the Chinese National Basketball League (NBL) in Xian on Wednesday.

With the victory, the Wolves maintained their hold of the top spot in the 14-club team standings of the professional minor basketball league of China. Shaanxi remains one full game ahead of the second-best performing ball squad Anhui Wenyi, which has an impressive 15-2 win-loss record and is currently on an 11-game winning streak.

The foreign basketball reinforcements of Shaanxi James Mays and Tyler Wilkerson scored a combined 56 points and pulled down a total of 27 rebounds. Both American professional players finished the game with a double-double game performance giving the opposing team a lot of problems on both ends of the floor.

According to Asia-Basket, Mays, who tops all scorers, shot 13 from 21 in the field while Wilkerson went 10 for 17 from the floor including three connections from beyond the arc. The two imports of Shaanxi also registered two steals a piece and played for less than 40 minutes only.

Shaanxi's local players also played well with Jiguang Bi contributing 20 points and Xiang Liqing added 13. JianJun Qi was a point away from a double-double production with nine points and 11 boards under his name for the winners, who will be facing Anhui in the next round of the league on Friday.

American forward Cavell Johnson paced Jianghuai with 27 points and six boards. Domestic player Ming-Yu Liu is the only other player who finished the game in double figures for Jianghuai, who had lost 13 of the 17 official games played this season.

According to NowGoal, Shaanxi dominated almost the entire game by outscoring Jianghuai in all the four quarters of the match (33-19, 20-17, 22-20, 31-24).
