Anhui Wenyi Crushes Beijing Dongfan in 15th Round of Chinese National Basketball League

The league's second-best performing team Anhui Wenyi continued their winning streak after demolishing the fourth-ranked Beijing Dongfan with a 126-99 victory in the 15th round of the Chinese National Basketball League (NBL) on Friday night.

The 2014 NBA D-League All-Star Manny Harris exploded with a season-high 68 points and pulled ten rebounds to lead Anhui to its tenth-straight triumph after suffering a heart-breaking 111-110 loss against Shaanxi Xinda Wolves early last month. The 26-year-old former University of Michigan Wolverines player went 23 for 31 from the two-point range and connected 5 for 11 from the three-point marker

According to Asia-Basket, Anhui's other American reinforcement Chris Singleton contributed with 12 points and 13 boards. YongGang Zhang finished the game with 14 points and Shunjie Guo added eight points for the winners.

Anhui is now just a game behind the league leader Shaanxi Xinda Wolves (14-1).

The starters of Anhui outscored their counterparts as American forward Emanuel Jones led Beijing with team-high 40 points while Ater Majok chipped in with 25 points and 19 rebounds.  With the loss, Beijing now has a 9-6 win-loss record and sits in the fourth and fifth spot in the 14-team Chinese professional basketball minor league with Henan Shedian Laojiu.

According to NowGoal, the winning team capped the first 24 minutes of the match with a 12-point lead 61-59 as both squads headed to their respective locker rooms. Anhui was able to further extend their lead to a comfortable 20-point advantage with a 34-26 outburst in the third frame of the game.

In the final period of the match, with the hot shooting hand of Harris, Anhui never looked back and continued to pound Beijing with 31-24 in the quarter to wrap up the game and register their win No. 13.
