Mercurial squad Yanbian Funde FC (5-8-4, 19 points) will take on the challenge of contending team Jiangsu Suning FC (9-3-5, 32 points) in a 2016 Chinese Super League encounter at the Yanji Nationwide Fitness Centre Stadium on Saturday, July 16.

Yanbian had been unbeaten in three of their last four matches, including a 1-1 home draw with defending champions and current league leaders Guangzhou Evergrande, but their loss came from a 2-4 beatdown from lowly squad Hangzhou Greentown.

Their surge settled them at the 11th spot of the China top flight table after 17 games in the season, only six points above the bottom two relegation area.

In their most recent game last Saturday, Yanbian snapped Shanghai Shenhua's two-game winning run with a 2-0 win also at their home stadium in Yanji, as per Soccerway.

The game was scoreless for the most part until Serbian defender Nikola Petkovic broke the deadlock at the 70th minute to give Park Tae-ha's men the lead. South Korean striker Kim Seung-dae doubled with only a minute left before full time to give his squad another three points in the overall standings.

Meanwhile, Jiangsu Suning two-game winning streak was also stopped as they succumbed to a 1-2 upset loss against struggling powerhouse Shandong Luneng at the Jinan Olympic Sports Center Stadium also last Saturday, Shanghai Daily reported.

Suning scored the opening goal with a strike from Brazilian forward Jô at the eighth minute of the match, but Taishan Dui netted the next two goals at the 57th and 74th, courtesy of a brace from Argentine midfielder Walter Montillo, to pull off a come-from-behind victory.

Jiangsu remains at the second spot of the league table, but their gap from Evergrande increased to ten points after the loss.

Choi Yong-soo's boys are projected to win a close one against Yanbian in this fixture.

The predicted result is a 2-1 win for Jiangsu Suning.
