Former Washington Wizards Forward Chris Singleton Claims Player of the Week Award for Chinese NBL Round 19

Former National Basketball Association player Chris Singleton of the Anhui Wenyi had a spectacular double-double performance, earning him the right to be named Asia-Basket.com NBL Player of the Week in the 19th round of China's professional minor basketball league.

According to Asia-Basket, the former Washington Wizards forward showed off a very outstanding performance by scoring 38 big points and pulling down 15 rebounds along with five steals and three assists. Singleton, 27, led Anhui to defeat Hebei Xianglan with a 120-107 win.
Singleton, who used to play for the Jiangsu Dragons in the Chinese Basketball Association in 2014, went 14 for 21 from the field including three treys from the three attempts he released from beyond the arc. The 6-foot-8 tall native of Canton, Georgia also made 7 of 9 from the free throw line in 43 minutes on the court.
Singleton is the league's ninth leading rebounder having an average of 11.7 boards per contest this season. The 2011 ACC Defensive Player of the Year winner is averaging an impressive 1.3 blocked shot per game and has a steady 66.0 field goal shooting percentage.
With Sunday's victory, Anhui have improved to a 17-2 win-loss record and maintained their position on the top of the 14-squad basketball league's team standings. Singleton's team is currently tied with the Shaanxi Xinda Wolves with the same win-loss record.
