Streaking squad Guangzhou R&F FC (6-7-4, 22 points) will face reeling team Tianjin Teda FC (5-5-7, 22 points) in a 2016 Chinese Super League season round 18 match set to be held at their home field of Yuexiushan Stadium this Saturday, July 16.

Guangzhou is currently on a two-game winning run following three straight winless performances in the China top flight in the last five rounds. With their streak, the Blue Lions climbed to the seventh spot of the league table.

In their previous game at the Qinhuangdao Olympic Sports Center Stadium on Sunday, R&F pulled off an impressive 2-0 upset win over fourth-running team Hebei China Fortune FC, as per Soccerway.

Brazilian winger Renatinho opened the scoring for manager Dragan Stojković's side with a penalty kick at the 40th minute before another import, Australian striker Apostolos Giannou, doubled the lead at the 77th in the second half, giving the Samba Kings their third consecutive loss.

Although Guangzhou and Tianjin Teda are virtually tied on points, goal difference, goals scored, and goals allowed, the former still occupies seventh place in the standings because of a superior head-to-head points as the Blue Lions defeated the Tianjin Tigers, 1-0, during their first meeting of the season at the Tianjin Olympic Center Stadium back in March.

Meanwhile, Tianjin settled to a goalless draw with capital city squad Beijing Guoan at the Workers' Stadium last Saturday, Xinhuanet reported.

It was the fifth straight winless game for head coach Dragan Okuka's boys as they were overtaken to the seventh spot by R&F and now occupy eighth place in the overall standings.

The Tigers are expected to score at least a goal in this one with new reinforcement Malick Evouna's signing, but the Blue Lions are still favored to win by a point.

The predicted result is a 2-1 win for Guangzhou R&F.
